Margaret was raised in Tarpon Springs, on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Her great-grandparents were early settlers in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties, with Florida Citrus and early sawmills as family historic businesses. In 1966, She graduated from the University of Florida and moved to Jacksonville, where she taught in the public schools. While in Jacksonville, she met Charles, a pilot in the Navy, and they soon married. She acquired her Florida real estate license and decided to branch into the appraisal field. She worked at the Citrus County Appraiser’s office in real estate appraisal and later went into owning her own property appraisal office for about 30 years serving the central Florida area of predominately Citrus County, Marion County, Sumter County and Lake County. Up on retiring in that field about 5 years ago, she retained her broker-associate license to continue her career in the family business, at Alexander Real Estate. She remains committed to the learned principles of the appraisal industry as applied to selling of individual properties. The love of Florida Real Estate is “home grown” and very dear to her heart. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, yard work, and spoiling her granddaughters.
